Rungevity 5K & 1 Mile

FLEET FEET has hosted this mid-summer event annually since 2011.  For its first two years, it was called The Opening Act 5K and it served as a kick-off event for fall's Rock 'n' Roll St. Louis Marathon (RnRSTL).  Essentially a "mini RnRSTL", it had a family-friendly vibe, music on the course, and a band playing at the post-race party.  It's late-July date was chosen to coincide with the perfect time to start training for the RnRSTL Half Marathon.  In 2013, the Boston Marathon bombings prompted us to change the name to Unstoppable 5K and to focus on raising as much money as possible for The One Fund, the official fundraising portal for bombing victims.  Thanks in part to a matching donation by the Quinn Family Foundation, $10,000 was donated to The One Fund.  In 2014, the name changes again.

Renamed (again) to the rungevity 5K/1M, the 2014 event's goals are once again to deliver a quality event that raises funds for a worthy cause.  rungevity is the name of the Quinn Family Foundation's latest charitable project.  After spending the past few years supporting Team Activities for Special Kids (TASK), The Quinn Family Foundation created rungevity with the goal of supporting additional St. Louis charities by harnessing the strength of runners.  Proceeds from RnRSTL 2014 will benefit rungevity - as will donations made to the rungevity 5K/1M.
