For 2014, the Quinn Family Foundation (QFF) will serve as the title sponsor of the Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. In an effort to expand the benefiting charity component to a greater number of charities, the QFF proudly launches rungevity – a premier charity-racing program to benefit selected St. Louis charities in a unique and exclusive way. 2014 Partner Charities
Ranken Jordan
Ranken Jordan is the first pediatric bridge hospital helping kids with complex medical conditions and their families transition from the acute care hospital to home. Advances in medicine are saving more children’s lives; however, many of these children have severe illnesses or injuries. Without Ranken Jordan, these children are likely to have frequent ER and hospital re-admissions or must live in adult nursing homes.
Our Care Beyond the Bedside model gets even the sickest children out of bed. Combining normal childhood activities with innovative medical care and rehabilitation creates a powerful path to recovery. By fostering strong partnerships with traditional acute care hospitals and by including the whole family in the care team we see improved outcomes and successful transitions home.
TASK
Team Activities for Special Kids or TASK is a St. Louis based organization whose mission is to increase self-esteem in individuals with special needs through recreational, social and athletic opportunities. TASK was establish in 1996 and over the years has positively impacted the lives of thousands of individuals with special needs.
TASK has been fortunate enough to be a part of the St. Louis Rock N Roll Marathon and ½ over the past 3 years and thanks to the efforts of many we have been able to purchase a facility in Fenton and renovate it into a campus that has a soccer field, softball fields, putting green, basketball courts, volleyball courts, indoor walking track, large kitchen for learning life skills, a sensory room and a first aid station. But there is still more to do.
We are proud to be a part of this great St. Louis event and to be a partner charity of rungevity as they make a difference in St. Louis!
